Capsule Review: Dragonforce’s “Operation Ground and Pound”

A key success to Dragonforce becoming a great band of this generation, these power metallers use synchronizing and video game elements in their music.  Herman Li’s deep knowledge of guitar usage from many great guitarists like Alex Skolnick’s shredding and Marty Friedman’s fast tremolo picking, Li has constructed himself as a technical complex musician.  This song has a lot of musicianship from ZP Theart’s vocalization to Li and Sam Totman doing dual guitar solos, “Operation Ground and Pound” stands out in the “Inhuman Rampage” album.   However, this song is nothing like “Through the Fire and Flames,” which has more shredding required and musicianship from Li.  [B+]
