Mark your calendar, 15 years of this album being thrown into the public.  Originally released in 1999  under Shrapnel Records, “The Raspberry Jams: A Collection Of Demos, Songs, And Ideas On Guitar” became Jason Becker’s third solo album.  Upon releasing it, over 20 songs would be able to create a crunch time of just over an hour.  Track one “Becker-Ola” provides a musical infusion of blues and hard rock/metal.  Becker is much like a Hendrix blues Van Halen Malmsteen.  The short pice “Too Fast, No Good For You!” dazzles Becker’s virtuoso playing guitar as someone high on speed covering a Van Halen or Yngwie Malmsteen tune.  Even though Becker is contained by ALS, he still makes fantastic music that will seek many people into his music.  [A-]
