form: how a musical piece is structured or organized

measure: smallest unit of form; consists of a set number of beats (e.g. 2, 3, 4, etc.)
phrase: p art of a musical line or idea; usually 2 or 4 measures in length

section: a complete musical line/idea; a significant part of a piece
introduction: a section at the beginning; introduces the main music
verse (possibly A): often first main section; music stays the same each time but lyrics change       –chorus (possibly B): often second main section; music and lyrics stay the same each time

interlude: a section in the middle; musical break, sometimes instrumental solo
bridge: a section in the middle; connects two different sections
primary bridge: music that’s unique to the other sections
