I give you this month’s “Got To Have Song In My Head Month.” A song that really gets my head going is “Souls of Black” originating from thrash bay area band Testament. With Alex Skolnick being one of the most respected metal guitarists with a side of jazz, he is continuing to become recognized. The extended bass version, with the single note playing from Skolnick. Chuck Billy’s deep voice have had an enormous impact on how bands like Testament can keep a career going for over 20 years in the music industry. Power chords and shredding, specifically excessive bending is key to Skolnick’s ravage guitar playing. Take a listen to “Souls of Black” and enjoy!
