Album Review: MTV Unplugged Nirvana Live in NYC

Well Happy birthday to this lovely live album.  Being the 20th anniversary to date of the release of Nirvana’s live performance in NY with MTV, this DVD release would become a gold mine for many lovers of Grunge, which became mainstream in the 1990’s.  Along with other mainstream grungers  like Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, Nirvana carried on heavy distortion music in their three released studio albums, “Bleach,” “Nevermind,” and “In Utero.”  With these albums reaching high on rock charts in the United States and album certifications by the Recording Industry Association of America, Nirvana would lock their future up to be remembered as “The Gods of Grunge” despite a short career and eventual break up after Kurt Cobain’s death in April 1994.

Being released in 1994 under Geffen Records, the sounds of Kurt’s guitar capabilities can be heard loudly.  Kurt’s lefty guitar playing of the acoustic proves…
