Why not choose Kurt Cobain? Because he was a good God damn musician. Highly achieving Nirvana’s fame in the 1990s and beyond, he rose up the chart with release of the group’s three studio albums, “Bleach” (1989), “Nevermind” (1991), and “In Utero” (1993). The two last albums were key to pushing Nirvana as a leader to Grunge, along with other groups including Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden. Kurt’s shocking death on April 5, 1994 left many fans questioning why he shot himself. He is also a member of the “Big 27” club, an area that displays musicians who died at the age 27 including Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, and Amy Winehouse.
