Own Almost All Dream Theater Studio Albums
Knowing there are 12 Dream Theater studio albums, I almost own all of them. The fact of the matter is these American based progressive guys are known for their obscure time signatures and mixture of metal and rock. Extended solos and long songs are in the mixing pot as well. “Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence” would be the group’s first self-song title of the album that clocked at over 90 minutes. It is considered overall the longest song Dream Theater has made going to 42 minutes. The album is of course double cd, containing tracks like “The Glass Prison,” which would start former drummer Mike Portnoy’s twelve-step-suite of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) of his experience with rehabilitation from drinking alcohol. The song is also considered the second longest in the album. You can have a listen to “The Glass Prison” below. The album only missing from my collection is “A Dramatic Turn of Events,” which is considered the first album of Dream Theater with now drummer Mike Mangini.

Jimi Hendrix Anniversary
It will only be a couple of more moths before the 45th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix’s death hits. Hendrix, who invented the usage of the wah-wah pedal and heavy distortion became one of the most iconic rock performers in the history of music. A mesh of songs from “Hey Joe,” “Red House,” and the famous “Star Spangled Banner” can all be heard from his loud playing fender guitar at the 1969 Woodstock festival on Max Yasgur’s dairy farm. Interestingly enough, the 1969 festival was not actually held in Woodstock, NY but in Bethel, NY a town 40 miles from it. Hendrix lost his life on September 18, 1970 from mixing sleeping pills and alcohol, and has been part of the “27 club,” a term used to describe musicians that died at age 27. Other notable musicians that died at that age includes Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison of the Doors, and Kurt Cobain of Nirvana. Enjoy watching Hendrix perform live at Woodstock!
Blow Your Ears Out
If you like this band I am about to show you, please consider buying their albums. A true amazing band that I saw last year in NYC. Enjoy listening to one of the most complex rhythmically constructed songs in rock history.
Surprise
Hey ever heard of good music? Why yes, thank you. Even though no one decided to come on here for awhile? Of course. Since the last time I was logged on to here, I have been deciding to get more albums. Exciting new albums I will be collecting include the Symphony X “Underwold” and Disturbed’s “Immortalized.” To date, I have collected over 50 albums including some from Dream Theater and Metallica. I will be collecting more of them as I hear more announcements of upcoming albums. Until then, enjoy this video of Disturbed’s new single “The Vengeful One.”
Blogger’s Song Pick of Sunday
I can surely find good Dragonforce songs. Like many of their tunes, the English power metal group is able to come up with sonic keyboard playing added with the fury of guitar riffs. On the other hand, solo shredding whether its double tapping from Herman Li or arpeggios from Sam Totamn, that music is no doubt amazing for anyone interested in power metal.
Savory Saturday
Jimi Hendrix was sure hell on fire when he played guitar. Made him one of the greatest musicians to ever live.
